Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, a two‐dimensional macroscopic element model was established for dual‐electrolyte Li‐air batteries (LABs) by COMSOL Multiphysics. The model combined Structural Mechanics module, Lithium‐Ion Battery (liion), Transport of Diluted Species in Porous Media (tds) and Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) and Differential Algebraic Equations (DAEs) at the transient condition. It is illustrated that the porosity of the battery is the maximum, the transmission performance of O2 and Li+ is the best, the discharge specific capacity is 2044 mAh ⋅ g−1. The over‐potential is the minimum when 0.5 MPa preload force is applied to the dual‐electrolyte LABs in the range of 0–2 MPa according to the numerical simulation. Moreover, the effect of the best preload force of 0.5 MPa during the process of the experiment is substantiated.
