Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of pain knowledge learning of obstetric nurses in decreasing maternity complaints after childbirth.Methods 240 puerpera in our hospital from December 2010 to October 2012 were randomly divided into control group and observation group,120 cases in each group.Control group was nursed by nurses who hadn' t participated in pain knowledge learning,while observation group was nursed by nurses who had participated in pain knowledge learning.Nursing efficacy was compared between two groups.Results The evaluation of pain-related knowledge level,patients' satisfaction on pain nursing care,quality of life and the incidence of maternity complaints after childbirth in observation group were (92.12 ± 3.98),90.00%,(89.21 ± 4.32),0.21%,and those in control group were (68.21 ± 2.12),56.67%,(72.12 ± 2.12),3.22%,with statistically significant differences between two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusions Pain knowledge learning of obstetric nurses can significantly improve nurses' cognition of pain-related knowledge and patients' satisfaction on pain nursing care,reduce the incidence of complaints,which has a positive impact on the quality of obstetric nursing care.
