Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of applying clinical nursing path (CNP) in puerperae undertaking obstetric cesarean section. Methods 160 puerperae planning to take cesarean section were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 80 cases for each group. The control group was routinely cared and the observation group received high quality nursing care according to clinical nursing pathway. The nursing effects were compared between these two groups. Results The incidence of breast swelling and induration after cesarean section was significantly lower and the breastfeeding success rate, child health care knowledge qualified rate, neonatal nursing basic operation qulified rate, nursing quality qualified rate, and nursing satisfaction were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (1.25% vs. 10.00%, 97.5% vs. 88.75%, 97.50% vs. 86.25%, 93.75% vs. 83.75%, 98.75% vs. 90.00%, and 100.00% vs. 92.50%, with statistical differences (all P<0.05). Conclusions The effective implementation of clinical nursing pathway in obstetric cesarean section provides better quality nursing service for pregnant women and neonates, is conducive to maternal and child health, and greatly improves the quality of obstetric care and nursing service satisfaction, so it has better clinical value.
