Abstract

Levels of l-amino acid oxidase in wild-type Neurospora crassa increased with the oxygen tension under derepressed or repressed conditions. Some mutants affected in the regulation of nitrogen metabolism ( nmr, gln-1b, nit-4) still displayed the above oxygen effect, whereas others ( nit-2, en(am)1) did not.
