Abstract

Objective To investigate and discuss the effect of oriented psychological intervention on the treatment for inpatients with senile skin pruritus.Methods A total of 64 patients with senile skin pruritus were randomly divided into two groups,32 patients in the experimental group with conventional therapy and oriented psychological intervention for 3 weeks,and 32 patients in the control group with only conventional therapy.Results In the experimental group,VAS scores before and after treatment were (62.188 ± 20.043) and (17.688 ± 15.763),respectively.In the control group,VAS scores before and after treatment were (60.125 ± 14.644) and (30.188 ± 15.351),respectively.Before treatment,there was no statistically difference in VAS scores between the experimental group and the control group (P > 0.05).Afore treatment,there was statistically significant difference in VAS scores between the experimental group and the control group (P < 0.01).In the experimental group,there were statistically significant difference in VAS scores (t =3.292,P <0.01) and treatment effect (U =-3.325,P < 0.01) before and after treatment.Conclusions In the treatment process of senile skin pruritus,the combined application of the oriented psychological intervention and conventional therapy can help to improve the cure rate of patients and relieve patient's skin itching.
