Abstract

Background and Aims: Impaired arterial elasticity may contribute to increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in patients with familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) despite statin therapy. This abnormality may be further exacerbated in the postprandial state. Omega-3 fatty acid (ω-3FA) supplementation has been shown to improve arterial elasticity in FH patients in the post-absorptive state. However, its effect on postprandial arterial elasticity has not been investigated.
