Abstract

Hydrodynamic model and coupled mode theory has been used to study parametric interactions in magnetized semiconductor plasma for nonrelativistic and relativistic electrons. Expression for nonlinear absorption coefficient and threshold pump field required to incite parametric interaction has been derived. Effects of various parameters on absorption coefficients have been plotted for both the cases. Numerical estimates were made on InSb crystal duly irradiated by 1.06 µm Nd:Yag laser at 77K. Absorption coefficient is found to be modified in both the cases and It is observed that choosing the proper values of input parameters one may achieve higher nonlinear parametric gain.
