Abstract

To improve the performance of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) interconnects, coatings on Crofer 22APU alloy were obtained by the combination of Fe-Ni-Co spinel oxides/Y2O3 and sol-gel method. The cyclic oxidation of steels was carried out at 800 °C for 500 h, evaluating the samples' electrical conductivity in the air at 800 °C after 500 h of oxidation. Findings indicated that the Fe-Ni-Co spinel oxides/Y2O3 coating could be a barrier to improving the steel oxidation resistance. The surface scale's electrical conductivity on the coated steel was much higher than that on the bare steel.
