Abstract

A study was made of the kinetics of polymerization in the systems acrylonitrile-tributyldimagnesium iodide-toluene (I) and methyl acrylate-tributyldimagnesium iodie-toluene (II) in the presence of tetramethylethylenediamine (TMD) and tetraglim (TG). It is shown that TMD and TG increase the polymerization rate for system I and reduce it for system II. The experimental results are considered from the point of view of how the polymerization process is influenced by the complexing of TMD and TG with organomagnesium compounds.
