Abstract

In the region of homogeneous solid solutions for ZrO2-Sc2O3 with a cubic structure of the fluorite type the size of the crystals is, in a certain temperature range, an important factor influencing the conductivity of these materials. The role of this factor is manifest in the position of the maximum on the conductivity isotherms, in the increased conductivity of the fine grained materials obtained by the hot pressing method, and also in the reduction in the conductivity of ceramics subjected to additional recrystallization.
