Abstract

The indicated paper investigates about concrete’s mechanical properties casted besides partial replacement of reprocessed aggregate as coarse aggregate and sorptivity of small concrete specimens cured in MgSO4 solution. Recycled aggregate has been replaced at 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% by weight of coarse aggregate by adding the super plasticizer CERA HYPER PLAST XR W 40 and reducing 20% water by weight of the normal water content calculated for M30 mix concrete. The comparison has been made between recycled aggregate concrete and normal concrete cured in normal water and MgSO4 solution by testing cube specimens for 7, 28, 90 days respectively. As per final results concrete prototype’s strength decreases by increasing reused aggregate’s percentage by weight of natural coarse aggregate (NCA). The strength value is higher at 10% replacement of recycled aggregate. In the comparison between normal water curing and MgSO4 solution curing, it has been seen that the prototype’s strength value cured in normal water is more than that of cured in MgSO4 solution. The sorptivity of specimens cured in MgSO4 solution is greater than that cured in normal water.
