Abstract
This study focuses on the synergistic effect of metal and acid on the catalytic upgrading of gaseous tar from coal pyrolysis was studied by loading metals with HZSM-5 zeolites with different Si/Al ratios. The results show that the metal-loaded HZSM-5 zeolite can significantly promote the removal of phenolic hydroxyl and aromatization of aliphatic hydrocarbons, and obtain more BTEXN. In addition, HZSM-5 zeolite with Si/Al ratio of 25 was selected to study the ratio of metal acids in the in-situ catalytic upgrading of tar. The metal-supported acidity of the catalyst increased at first and then decreased with the increase of metal loading. According to the synergistic effect of metal and acid of 5Ni/Z-25, the yield of BTEXN is the highest and the selectivity of benzene and toluene is good. However, by adjusting the metal ratio, the obtained xNi/Z-25 also has a good selectivity for substances such as p-xylene while ensuring the higher yield of BTEXN.
