Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of medication management training on social function and quality of life for patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 80 schizophrenia inpatients were randomly divided into study group and control group on average, and two groups were treated by medicine and usual care, but 3 months medication management training was only carried out in the study group. The results of interventions were evaluated by BPRS, SDSS, and GQOLI-74 before treatment, after three months′ treatment, half a year and a year from discharge. Results After 1 year follow-up, the BPRS was (30.35±9.43) score, SDSS (1.16±1.97) score in the study group lower than these of the control group (t=-4.16, 5.66; P<0.01); the GQOLI of the study group was (72.86±11.34) compared with (64.85±10.97) in the control group (t=3.10, P<0.01). Conclusions Medication management training can effectively improve the symptoms, social function and quality of life for patients with schizophrenia.
