Abstract
An analysis of the mechanics of bandsawing is presented here in a unified manner. Previous studies of hacksawing are extended to bandsawing. This work reviews the more recent innovations in bandsaw blade design. Use is made of this variable pitch combination blade to obtain experimental results while sawing En39B material. The data presented deals with the effect of speed, feed and workpiece shape on the cutting process.
