Abstract

A comparative study of thermal stability of polyarylates with varying m-carborane nucleus content in the macromolecular chain shows that, according to the concentration of the m-carborane group, both the temperature of initial decomposition of the polymer and the amount and composition of gaseous products of degradation change. It is indicated that the difference in the concentration of the m-carborane group in the polymer chain influences the thermal degradation mechanism of the polyesters studied.
