Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of laparoscopic surgery on erectile function and ejaculatory function in male rectal cancer patients. Methods 80 male patients with rectal cancer undergoing surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were selected, and divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table, 40 cases in each group. The control group underwent open radical resection of rectal cancer, while the observation group underwent laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer. The erectile function and ejaculatory function were compared between the two groups after 12 months. Results Before surgery, there were no statistically significant differences in the erectile function and ejaculatory function between the two groups (P > 0.05); 12 months after surgery, the erectile function and ejaculatory function in the observation group were better than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion The use of laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer for male rectal cancer patients has no obvious effect on erection, ejaculation and other sexual functions, and the operation effect is good.
