Abstract

The article presents the results of experimental studies to determine the influence of the kinematics of the working tool during surface plastic deformation (SPD) on the operational properties of machine parts: wear resistance, corrosion resistance and flexural rigidity. As a result of experimental studies of the quality of the surface layer of machine parts, it was established that when hardened by surface plastic deformation with a toroidal roller with reverse circular motion, in comparison with a similar roller, but rotating relative to the central axis and with a roller that performs circular rotation relative to the central axis passing through the plane, connecting single-radius elements, wear resistance increases by 69,6 % and 29,8 %, the corrosion rate decreases by 53,0 % and 23,8 % and flexural stiffness increases by 58,0 % and 36,8 %, respectively.
