Abstract

BiOBr samples were synthesized by one-step solvothermal method. When the molar ratio of Bi:KBr was 1:2, the synthesized BiOBr had regular morphology, good crystallinity, small band gap, low recombination probability of photogenerated electron-hole, and high exposure of (001), (012) and (110). The activity of RhB degradation was the best. And the first-order kinetic constant K was the largest, which was 0.0437 min−1, 17.3 times that of BiOBr (1:1) sample (0.00252 min−1). The results can provide a basis for the preparation of BiOX (X = Cl, Br, I) related materials and broaden the research and development scope of BiOX based catalysts.
