Abstract

Chitosan, a natural cationic polymer, is gaining popularity due to its biodegradable and biocompatible properties. The parameters such as ionic strength (I) and porosity play an important role in case of chitosan nanoparticles (CSNPs) contributing to their formation, stability, and suitable biomedical applications. To explore these findings, we varied the concentration of acetic acid (I) and studied physicochemical properties of CSNPs, which revealed the effect of ionic strength on the surface properties and porosity of CSNPs. Further, ionic strength of CSNPs simulated using COMSOL Multiphysics. Thus, our conclusions give important understanding on the applicability of CSNPs as a potential drug delivery system for future applications.
