Abstract

The extensive acquisition of hybrid reinforced metal matrix composites (M M Cs) for vast engineering applications is the need of this era. In this Industrial revolution, almost all sectors are demanding for the lightweight and affordable materials of constructions. These guidelines are rightfully observed in the case of hybrid reinforced aluminium metal matrix composite. In present work, the coconut shell ash and groundnut shell ash used as reinforcement in the fabrication of A356 matrix based composite material. Stir casting method has used for manufacturing hybrid composite material. Present investigate the effect of different percentage of hybrid ash particles on the microstructure and hardness of this A356 alloy matrix composite. The hardness of the synthesized material increases with addition of hybrid composition of groundnut shell ash up to 3% and coconut shell ash up to 1% by weight. The microstructure reveals that there is uniform distribution of reinforcement particles in discovered aluminum silicon eutectic with random orientation of secondary phase.
