Abstract

Breakdown voltage of air gaps is strongly affected by atmospheric conditions such as temperature and humidity. Detailed information on the effect of atmospheric conditions on the AC breakdown is available. However, similar data on the DC breakdown characteristics, particularly at high humidities, is scarce. DC data on the effects of humidity and temperature existing in tropical countries is presented. Humidity correction factor curves for rod-rod and rod-plane air gaps are presented.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
