Abstract

Abstract It is known that performance properties of the material of gas-compressor units (GCU) blades made of heat-resistant alloys can be improved by applying methods of their modification. At the same time, in relation to the blades of the GCU turbine, change of the surface layer material state has significant impact on such their performance parameters as endurance limit, corrosion resistance and heat resistance. Despite the rather wide range of methods for details material surface layer modification, the most promising direction in providing enhanced performance parameters of GCU details is the application of the method of ion-implantation treatment of the surface layer of specified details (Smyslov et al., 1992; Vladimirov and Guseva, 1984).
