Abstract

An experimental work was carried out to investigate some mechanical properties of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC). These properties include Compressive strength, Flexural strength, Water Absorption and Density. The effect of the high volume of steel fiber on these properties were carefully studied, the steel fibers volume fraction (0%, 14%, 28% by volume of concrete) layer and (0%, 7%, 14% by volume of concrete) random. Used silica fume content 10% as a partial replacement by weight of cement and super plasticizer known (Sika Visco Crete-5930). The experimental results showed that as the steel fiber volume increase from 0% to 28% (layer) lead to decrease in compressive strength while increase in tensile strength, water absorption and density. The steel fiber volume from 0% to 14% (random) lead to decrease in compressive strength while increase in tensile strength, water absorption and density.
