Abstract
Ethyl silicate-bonded cristobalite-quartz investment used silica gel as the binder. The effect of silica gel as the SiO 2 in hydrolysed silica sol solution was examined using differential thermal analysis (DTA) and theromgravimetry (TG) with respect to thermal change of the investment when the concentration of silica gel changed within hydrolysed solution. The setting time that elapsed from the beginning of mixing until the material hardened was determined using a Vicat needle
