Abstract

Abstract The effect of the feeding of two eriophyid mite species, the gall forming Aceria acnisti Keifer on Acnistus cauliflorus Schott. and of the leaf edge rolling mite, Phyllocoptes bougainvilleae Keifer on Bougainvillea spectabilis Willd., on the mineral content of their host plants was studied. Aceria acnisti is also recorded for the first time in the States of Sao Paulo, and from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the same solanaceous host plant.
