Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of extended nursing service on quality of life of postoperative colorectal cancer patients. Methods A total of 150 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent colorectal cancer surgery from May 2013 to October 2016 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 75 cases of each group.The patients were followed up for 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after discharge.The patients of the observation group were extended nursing services such as family follow-up, telephone follow-up and fellowship activities.Patients were assessed with QLQ-C30 quality of life questionnaire(QLQ-C30). Results The physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function, social function and overall health of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group after extended nursing intervention for 3 months, 6 months and 1 year, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Extended nursing care for postoperative colorectal cancer patients can improve their knowledge and social communication ability, and improve the quality of life of patients.
