Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of early nursing intervention on the prognosis of supracondylar fracture of the humerus in children. Methods 72 children with supracondylar fracture of the humerus were randomly divided into intervention group (36 children) and control group (36 children).Children in the control group undergoing reposition and fixation received conventional nursing and simple instruction on recovery exercise; while those in the intervention group received personal nursing intervention based on different fixation procedures and they started functional exercise as early as possible. The clinical effects were observed. Results In the intervention group, elbow function recovered well in 91.7% of the children with a incidence rate of elbow inversion of 5.6%.The effect differed significantly between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Early logical recovery exercise can decrease the incidence of complications due to supracondylar fracture of the humerus, improve the elbow function, and promote the recovery in the children.
