Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of early nursing intervention on anxiety state and postoperative complications for intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) to the patients who received percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the emergency. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 76 patients who received PCI and IABP treatment in our hospital from 2009-2012.Thirty-eight cases received regular nursing in the control group while the other 38 cases received early nursing intervention in the experimental group.Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) was employed to evaluate the difference on anxiety state of the patients in the two groups before and after interference. The incidences of postoperative complications and the compliance of the treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After the nursing intervention, the score of SAS was (41.62 ± 4.51) in the experimental group, and (50.68 ± 4.83) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (t =8.451,P < 0.05).The incidence of postoperative complication was 18.4% in the experimental group, and lower (55.3%) than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =11.083,P < 0.05).The compliance of the treatment was 76.3% in the experimental group, and 42.1% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (Z =1.969,P < 0.05).Conclusions Early nursing intervention can not only obviously alleviate the incidence and degree of anxiety but decrease the incidences of postoperative complications and strengthen the compliance of treatment of the patients.
