Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of early intervention on neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy sequelae.Methods 42 children with neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy who had been hospitalized during the period of July 2008 to September 2011 were randomly divided into two groups.The control group received conventional therapy,while the study group received early intervention in addition to conventional treatment.Mental development indexes and psychomotor development indexes were observed and then compared between the two groups three and six months after intervention.Results The general information did not differed significantly between the two groups ( P> 0.05 ).Mental development indexes and psychomotor development indexes were better in the study group than in the control group ( P<0.05 ).Conclusions Early comprehensive intervention for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy is beneficial in reducing sequelae and improving intellectual,mental and motor development in children.
