Abstract

The optical transmittance of pure and doped lithium niobate crystals was measured in 200-800 nm range with the incident light being perpendicular to the Z axis of the crystals. The wavelength dependence of the absorption coefficient was calculated and the characteristics of the absorption edges were discussed
