Abstract

Background and Aims: Diabetic patients with normal left ventricular ejection fraction are frequently associated with diastolic dysfunction .Speckle tracking is more sensitive than LVEF in detection subclinical LV systolic dysfunction However, it is not clear whether there is any difference in early LV systolic dysfunction between DM patients if they have controlled or uncontrolled blood glucose, and what is the duration of DM that contributes to preclinical impairment of LV systolic function.
