Abstract

This study focuses on the effect of the main antioxidation element Al on the high-temperature oxidation resistance of Ni-Cr-Co based superalloys. A novel “3D printing-high temperature diffusion” high-throughput method was used to accurately determine the critical Al content to form continuous Al2O3 film. Results show that Al2O3 film significantly affects the element diffusion process during oxidation, and the critical Al content to form continuous Al2O3 film is 0.8 wt%. This conclusion was further confirmed by the corresponding discrete samples. It was also found that Ni-Cr-Co based superalloys exhibit “oxidation weight loss” and “Kp-antioxidation positive correlation” phenomena in high humidity condition.
