Abstract

The effect of HEDP and DPP complexones (forming soluble complexes with Fe3+cations) on the anodic oxide passivation of iron, as well as its adsorption passivation caused by lithium oleate, was studied in an acetate solution by voltammetric and impedometric methods. The complexones were found to take part in iron ionization, impede the anodic oxide passivation of iron, and preclude adsorption passivation with lithium oleate.
