Abstract

The paper describes the effect of complex ion-plasma treatment consisting of ion nitriding and subsequent application of a wear-resistant coating using a plasma source with a filament cathode on the physical and mechanical properties of the surface of high-speed steel P6M5. Two different technologies, a complex ion plasma technology and a protective coating of the (TiAl)N system, were compared. The results showed that the samples subjected to complex ion-plasma treatment have higher physical and mechanical properties.
