Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of combined HBO therapy on peptic ulcer with helicobacter pylori （HP） positive in the elderly. Methods One hundred cases of benign peptic ulcer with HP positive in the elderly were diagnosed with electronic gastroscopy. They were divided into the routine treatment group and the combined HBO treatment group, each consisting of 50 patients. Patients in the routine treatment group were given Losec, Amolin and Metroridazole, while patients in the other group were given combined HBO treatment in addition to routine drug treatment mentioned above. Following 2 courses of treatment, changes in the diameter of peptic ulcer and the rate of HP positive were compared. Results Significant statistical differences were detected in the diameter of ulcer and the rate of HP positive in the combined HBO treatment group, when compared with those of the routine treatment group. Conclusions The triad treatment profile combined with HBO showed better therapeutic effect on peptic ulcer with HP positive in the elderly, when compared with simple drug treatment.
