Abstract
Like other systems of the body, skin inevitably suffers from intrinsic ageing. In addition, ultraviolet radiation-induced oxidative stress plays a determinant role in extrinsic skin ageing. Therefore, counteracting oxidative stress is the key to alleviating extrinsic skin ageing. Coenzyme Q10 has been mainly used in the improvement of cardiovascular function. Recently, because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, coenzyme Q10 has been attempted to slow down skin ageing process. Key words: Cell aging; Coenzyme Q10
