Abstract
Abstract Investigations on the precipitation of Cd with a base show that anions strongly influence the chemical reactions of Cd. The composition of the precipitate is controlled by the presence and distribution of soluble complexes of Cd of different valencies with anions. At any given amount of added OH ions, the magnitude of Cd precipitated was determined by the presence of anions of the system.
