Abstract
EVEN after incubation in saline at 37° for as long as 24 hr., about 8.5 × 106 Ehrlich ascites tumour cells will produce tumour and cause death in 20–26 days when re-injected into new hosts. As part of an attempt to pin-point in vitro specific types of damage and then to test the virulence of these damaged cells by subsequent inoculation into mice, Ehrlich ascites tumour cells were exposed to the action of the enzyme α-amylase.
