Abstract

Oxidation behavior of the nanocrystalline coatings with different Al or/and Cr contents at 1050 °C is investigated. The results indicate that increasing the Al content in nanocrystalline coatings can reduce the negative effect of Ta, improve the purity and integrity of the Al2O3 scale, and strengthen the oxidation resistance of the coatings. However, Cr in the nanocrystalline coating will promote its diffusion to the single crystal superalloy, destroy its stability, and lead to the formation of IDZ and SRZ.
