Abstract

Background: Menstruation is a physiological condition in women which indicates that reproductive hormones have started to work. It is estimated that 43.22% of young women have little information about reproductive health which affects their attitude during menstruation. Due to this lack of knowledge, many myths have been formed which lead to artificial ways of thinking. The use of digital-based technology helps to convey information so that it can increase individual knowledge and attitudes, one of which is with “Carrd”. Objective: Knowing the effectiveness of “Carrd” as one-page website educational media in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of young women about menstruation. Methods: This study used a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design with 81 students in class X as subjects who were taken using the purposive random sampling technique. Data were collected using knowledge and attitude questionnaires given before and after the counseling. Then, it was analyzed using a paired t-test. Result: Prior to counseling, 3 students (3.7%) had good knowledge and 22 students (27.2%) had positive attitudes. After counseling with “Carrd”, there was an increase of 34 students (42%) with good knowledge (p = 0.000) and 80 students (98.8%) had a positive attitude (p = 0.001). The significance of “Carrd” is considered to be effective if the p-value < 0.05. Conclusion: “Carrd” is potentially effective for increasing the knowledge and attitudes of young women about menstruation at SMA Negeri 1 Sooko Mojokerto.
