 The This research aims to determine the effectiveness of applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance in increasing student learning motivation. The sample in this study consisted of 7 respondents. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive with pre-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design) with data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and intervention guidelines. The data analysis technique uses the t test formula. The analysis results show that the t_(calculated) value is 43.806, while the t_(table) value at the 5% significance level is 2.015. Thus the value of t_(count )> t_(table ). This shows that symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance are effective in increasing the learning motivation of class IXB students at SMPK St Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang. Based on the results of this research, the researcher provides suggestions to: Guidance and Guidance Teachers, are expected to be more creative in applying symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance services in an effort to increase student learning motivation
