Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model is more effective than the Inquiry Learning learning model for increasing critical thinking skills in Grade V Science subjects at SD Gugus Puspitaloka. This study used a quantitative method (experimental) with a Quasi-Experimental research design type of Non Equivalent Control Group Design. At the beginning before the treatment will be given a pretest and at the end after giving the treatment a posttest will be given, which will be assessed using the critical thinking skills rubric. From the research results based on the T test using the Independent Sample T-Test technique obtained 4.409 with sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 and df is 58. Probability value < 0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model is significantly more effective than the Inquiry Learning learning model in the 5th grade science subject at SD Gugus Puspitaloka.
