Abstract

The objective of this research is to explain how far the effectiveness of the use of audio-visual media in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subject. This research is done on the class of X IPA 3 SMA Islamic Centre Tangerang. The technique of taking the samples is purposive sampling. Data collection tool obtained through observation, interview and documentation data. The method that is used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research showed that the use of audio visual media has a level of effectiveness that is relevant to the success of student in learning. This can be seen from the results of the students on the class of X IPA 3 with an average grade of 80 and above. Based on the results of the interview showed that students really like and motivated when teaching and learning activities using audio-visual media in the form of video, because the interview results proved that audio visual learning media in the form of video makes it very easy for students to understand and digest the subject matter.
