Abstract

The Dastan written by Eesvi Khan Bahadur'' The story of Maher Afrooz and Dilbar'' is the first Urdu Dastan of North India written in the common language of the period. In this period, the Dastan’s were written in a difficult, Persian-influenced language. Based on this, the writers of Fort William College later popularized the plain language and provided an easy literary style to Urdu literature.
