Abstract
AbstractThe article reveals the content of the concept “creativity”, “creative activity”, “engineering creativity” and “creative thinking”. Currently, there is a problem of mismatch between the content of vocational training and the tasks of the labor market for the engineering industry. Graduates of technical universities experience difficulties associated with the lack of development of creative thinking, research skills that provide the productive potential of their future professional activities. The system of professional training in technical universities is often focused on the formation of a reproductive way of thinking and does not take into account the individual specifics of the cognitive abilities of students, thanks to which it is necessary to develop a special creative style of the future engineer. It is necessary for educators to use both universal general cultural and professional competencies of students in the educational process in order to achieve the goals of developing their creative thinking.
