Abstract

Abstract: Educational psychology in China has experienced a history of around 100 years. It has gone through many stages, including introduction and imitation of research in Western countries, learning from others’ experience and reform, and getting independent from western psychology. Especially, profound development has been achieved in the recent 30 years. The educational psychology system in China has begun to show its own characteristics. The field of research has been extended continuously. The educational psychology has been developed by Chinese educational psychologists from the research into learning psychology to the studies of many subjects, including learning psychology, teaching psychology, teachers’ psychology, moral psychology, and research on individual differences in educational contexts. Many studies based on reality in China have been initiated, which help to improve the educational psychology system. The development of educational psychology in China is characterized by localized orientation research, high ecological validity of research condition, comprehensiveness of research goals, and diversification of research methods.
