Abstract

The article is devoted to the development of Singapore's education system since 1965, conducted by Lee Kuan Yew and other members of the government. It analyses the relationship between developments of education in Singapore with the introduction of innovation in the life of the country. It describes the stages of formation of the modern education system in Singapore, the basic processes occurring in the country's education policy, the consequences of the reforms. In this article we describe the development of Singapore's capabilities in the initial phase after independence. It contains information on higher education of the ruling elite in Singapore in different periods of time. It addresses the issue of unification of the official languages. It shows the data of the various credit rating agencies that assess the level of development of education in the state. It specifies the features of preparation of students in mathematics and other exact sciences. This article describes the basic principles of the educational system in Singapore at different times. It held link between education reform and development of the country in the economic and political spheres. The article is analyses the reasons of the large growth of students from different countries in Singapore. It draws the conclusion about the positive role of educational policy made by Lee Kuan Yew to Singapore’s economic and social development.
