Abstract

The importance of traditional family education, as a necessary conditions of a person’s moral qualities formation is discussed in the article. Moral education can prevent moral decline in society. The purpose of the article is to justify the importance of children moral education on the basis of traditional family values. It is said that a system of true values that characterize child’s development, his character, aspiration and are formed primarily in the family.It is determined that the need to educate a citizen with strong spiritual foundations is noted at the state level. The fundamentals of the formation and priorities of the state family policy are defined in normative acts of Ukraine. To achieve the goal, the following research methods were used: analysis, synthesis, and generalization. The scientists’ views on the meals of moral education in the family are also analyzed. It is emphasized that family values are important elements in the formation of a holistic personality with strong spiritual and moral foundations. The main meals of moral education in the family were identified in the article: providing children with parents’ personal example of mutual love, respect, assistance, sincerity and devotion in the family; respect the right of children and elders in the family; parental responsibility for children’s healthy lifestyle; children’s involvement in the certain labor duties in family life; respect for the ancestors, family, native land, traditions, customs, and rituals; preservation and protection of domestic cultural and spiritual heritage; celebration of traditional and national holidays in the family, respect of folk customs and rituals that each family has kept for generations.
