Highlights
Information exchange between scientific people, forming the first step to closer cooperation has many forms and faces publications, conferences, symposia and informal personal contacts. These differ in many aspects, e.g. in the actuality of information, organisation efforts and expenses, thematic width of the outlined topics, or economy of the time spent
One of the most productive forms of information exchange and cooperation is a small seminar devoted to a defined thematic area, and organised by a group of institutions of similar scope and interest
Applications of Mathematics in Electrotechnology, Weissig, near Dresden (GDR), 1977; Reliability in Electronics, Mount Prenet (CSSR) 1978; Test Methods in Electronics Technology, BalatonfiJred (Hungary) 1979; Technology of the Hybrid Integrating Circuit, Ilmenau (GDR) 1980; Physical Measuring Methods in Electrotechnology, Mount Prenet, (CSSR) 1982; Several papers from the 5th International Spring Seminar on Electrotechnology are published here. They will give to our readers the overall picture of the thematic direction of the contributions, but they cannot, invoke the atmosphere of this meeting, arranged in a mountain chalet, set in deep forests away from all the noise of civilisation, giving the best conditions for scientific discussions, and for the forming of personal contacts and friendships between the participants
