Abstract

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters (MWCL) has been receiving on average 100 papers per month since the beginning of 2013 and the average time from submission to first decision is around ten weeks. For the fourth quarter of 2012 the average time from submission to online posting for accepted papers was around nineteen weeks. These results would not have been accomplished without the tireless and priceless efforts of our volunteers, the Associate Editors, and the reviewers. These volunteers are the cornerstone of a successful and high quality scientific journal. It is with great sadness that I announce the retirement of two Associate Editors: Dr. Dominique Schreurs, Katholieke University Leuven, Belgium, and Dr. Luca Perregrini, University of Pavia, Italy. Dr. Schreurs has accepted the position of Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES (T-MTT). Dr. Perregrini has accepted the position of Associate Editor for T-MTT under the leadership of Dr. Schreurs. I would also like to thank both of them for their unprecedented services and hard work for MWCL. They will be greatly missed. The successful operation of MWCL cannot continue without Associate Editors. I am pleased to announce the appointment of two new Associate Editors: Dr.Maurizio Bozzi, University of Pavia, Italy, and Dr. Kamal Samanta, Milmega, Ryde, UK. They have already provided their services to MWCL for the last couple of months and I am grateful that they have accepted the invitation to serve our journal. More information regarding the two new Associate Editors is provided in their biographies.
